Nisha
graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a Degree in Design
for Communication Arts & Media, in 1989 and holds and MA in Visual
Anthropology from Goldsmith’s College, University of London.
Nisha first became interested in photography as a visual art form whilst
undertaking her Degree. “One of our assignments was to photograph
people worthy of being in the National Portrait Gallery and to celebrate
150 years
of the invention
of photography. I found that the National Portrait Gallery only housed
portraits of eminent British men and women, so I deliberately photographed
people in
the creative sector who were not born in Britain but had made a significant
contribution to the society. The National Portrait Gallery was so impressed
that they bought two of my photographs for their collection, of Ricardo
Cinalli and Kaffe Fassett”
Since then Nisha’s work has taken her around the world and she has undertaken a wide variety of commissions and commercial projects across still, landscape, geographical, portrait and travel themes as well as having her work exhibited at various one-person shows and group exhibitions at venues throughout the UK. Nisha’s work has also featured in a variety of travel articles for titles such as Vogue, Independent on Sunday , Independent on Sunday's Sunday Review and Men’s Health.
Nisha is available for both commercial
and private commissions and can be
