I once read an article in The Sunday Times about Sting and his support for the Yamomami Indians of Brazil and their fight to protect the Amazon from deforestation, and oil companies. It inspired me to go to the Amazon and help the tribal communities.

Some years later I was fortunate enough to be commissioned by Independent on Sunday to bring to light the plight of the Huaorani tribe against pollution from the oil companies and modern farming such as cattle grazing and deforestation.

The Huaorani had set up a unique self –managed eco-tourism programme, which they hoped would sustain the future of their community.

Other work featured here includes photographs from my India and Morrocan collections.
